NetFront™ M-IMAP Client Adopted for KDDI’s “Decoration Mail” Service

TOKYO, Japan – September 21 2006 — ACCESS CO., LTD. (TSE:4813) announced that ACCESS’ NetFront^™M-IMAP Client Adopted for KDDI’s “Decoration Mail” Service developed by ACCESS has been adopted by KDDI for its “Decoration Mail” service. Two mobile handsets equipped with NetFront M-IMAP Client, Casio’s “W43CA” and Hitachi’s “W43H,” go on sale today.

The name of KDDI’s new service refers to its options which allow users to alter email background color, letter color and layout, as well as use pictures and photos for decoration. In addition to offering flashing email text and the insertion of pictures or animation, users can compose email using a design of their choice by combining images downloaded from a dedicated site. Decoration Mail is not restricted to KDDI handsets, but can also be sent and received by handsets of other providers offering the same service. NetFront M-IMAP Client is a message solution which was optimized based on M-IMAP. It has a powerful functionality even for hardware with limited features.

ACCESS has previously provided various products that support a diverse range of services for KDDI’s mobile handsets. These include the mobile messaging solution NetFront M-IMAP Client, NetFront DTV Profile Wireless Edition, a browser that supports BML (Broadcast Markup Language) and is compatible with One Seg, Japan’s digital terrestrial television broadcasting for mobile phones, and Media:, which allows users to switch to digital broadcasts from phone or email. In addition, KDDI adopted ACCESS’ NetFront SMIL Player as the browser for its “EZ Channel Plus” service lunched today.
