Real Networks and ACCESS Form Alliance to Enable Internet Media on Consumer Electronics

Leader in the Embedded Solutions Market Licenses the Helix DNA Client and RealAudio/RealVideo to Develop Embedded Solutions for Consumer Electronics

Consumer Electronics Show, Las Vegas, – January 9, 2003 – RealNetworks®, Inc. (Nasdaq: RNWK, Booth #35137) and ACCESS Co., Ltd. (Tokyo Stock Exchange: 4813), today announced a new relationship in which ACCESS will develop embedded solutions featuring RealNetworks’ core Helix DNA client and RealAudio® and RealVideo® for consumer electronics manufacturers. The Helix DNA Client, which is the core source code for RealNetworks’ leading RealOne Player, will be integrated into ACCESS’ NetFront® embedded browser enabling consumer electronics manufacturers to seamlessly incorporate RealAudio and RealVideo into their devices. ACCESS, a leading supplier of Internet software for mobile telephones, PDAs, video game consoles, set top boxes, and other non-PC devices, can now provide a single media client that enables support for RealAudio, RealVideo, and a wide range of other codecs.
