ACCESS Unleashes Digital Life at 3GSM World Congress 2007

  • Showcasing product portfolio that delivers open, extensible, unifying platforms

BARCELONA, SPAIN—3GSM World Congress — February 12, 2007 — Highlighting its theme for the 2007 3GSM World Congress—Unleash Your Digital Life—ACCESS CO., LTD., is showcasing a number of its products and technologies that enable device manufacturers, operators and application software companies to develop, distribute and enhance a wide variety of mobile phones and converged devices.

ACCESS also announced that the Product Development Kit (PDK) for ACCESS Linux Platform is now available to licensees. The Company has also begun distributing a pre-release version of the Software Development Kit (SDK) and Garnet VM Compatibility Kit to a number of select developers.

This year’s 3GSM World Congress also marks the launch of the ACCESS Connect Ecosystem (ACE) global partner program. The program is launching with over 45 charter members. ACCESS is also debuting the ACCESS NetFront Browser v3.5 and showcasing the ACCESS Linux Platform v1.0 software. The Company recently announced that ACCESS Linux Platform v1.0 Product Development Kit (PDK) is now available to licensees.

Located in CY06 in the Courtyard area of the Fira de Barcelona, ACCESS’ two-story booth features a wide variety of product demonstrations including ACCESS Linux Platform, NetFront Browser, and NetFront Mobile Client Suite.

ACCESS Connect Ecosystem Global Partner Program
The ACCESS Connect Ecosystem (ACE) Partner Program is a global initiative that brings together companies in the telecommunication, consumer electronics and media industries to drive market leadership of converged solutions developed by ACCESS and its partners. The ACE partner program joins together the current partner programs from ACCESS Systems Americas, Inc. (PalmSource’s Palm Powered Mobile World.), and ACCESS CO., LTD. (ACCESS Advanced Alliance program). The newly created ACE partner program is designed to create an ecosystem of world-class partners that will unleash the potential of the digital life generation by driving development and adoption of new mobile and converged technologies and solutions.

ACCESS Linux Platform Demonstrations
ACCESS will be featuring a number of ACCESS Linux Platform demonstrations in its booth during the 3GSM World Congress. These demonstrations include telephony, messaging and multimedia entertainment.

Astraware, the company that has developed a number of games for games for handheld devices will be showcasing one of its most popular games, Bejewled, running native on the ACCESS Linux Platform. Astraware will also demonstrate Solitare running native on the ACCESS Linux Platform.

ACCESS will also showcase the ACCESS Linux Platform running on the Marvell PX3xx applications processor and the OMAP platform from Texas Instruments.

The Product Development Kit (PDK) for ACCESS Linux Platform v1.0 is now available to licensees. The PDK includes all the necessary components, tools, samples and documentation to develop customized ACCESS Linux Platform-based mobile devices including:

  • All platform components (including a Linux reference kernel)
  • Reference drivers and development kit
  • Application development kit
  • A complete Eclipse-based set of development tools
  • Documentation

In addition to ACCESS Linux Platform PDK, the Company also announced that a beta version of ACCESS Linux Platform v1.0 SDK has been released to a number of developers selected to participate in the ACCESS Developer Network Early ACCESS Program.

Further, the Garnet VM Compatibility Kit has also been distributed to a number of developers. This Compatibility Kit delivers Garnet VM in an environment that developers can use to test their Garnet-based applications for compatibility with future versions of ACCESS Linux Platform-based devices. The kit includes the same software that ships in ACCESS Linux Platform built for standalone execution on a personal computer running Linux or Microsoft Windows. A debugging version of the Garnet VM Compatibility Kit is also available that enables testing with additional parameter checking and error reporting.

The ACCESS booth will be located in the Courtyard of the Fira de Barcelona in CY06. The 3GSM World Congress 2007 will be held Monday, February 12 – Thursday, February 15 at the Fira de Barcelona in Barcelona, Spain.
