ACCESS Provides Leading Wireless Mobile Browsing Capabilities on Texas Instruments OMAP2420-based Devices

Cannes, France – 3GSM World Congress – February 15, 2005 – ACCESS Co., Ltd., (Tokyo Stock Exchange: 4813), a global provider of mobile content delivery and Internet access technologies, today announced that the ACCESS NetFront® browser has been ported to run on Texas Instruments Incorporated’s (TI’s) OMAP2420. Now, users of OMAP processor-based mobile device – including FOMA phones, Smartphones, PDAs, 3G handsets and 2G/2.5G handsets – can use NetFront’s advanced Internet browsing capabilities.

By incorporating NetFront with the TI OMAP2420, users will now be able to easily browse the Internet, quickly view and retrieve Web content, watch streaming video clips, and play video games on OMAP2420-based mobile terminals. NetFront browser, on the OMAP2420, delivers an advanced Internet browsing experience with a comprehensive feature-set that includes support for WAP 2.0, WML, HTML 4.01, and cHTML as well as unique technologies like Rapid-Render, an incremental rendering technology that significantly accelerates the presentation of Web pages, and Smart-Fit Rendering, a rendering technology that intelligently renders Web pages to fit the screen width of mobile devices, eliminating the need for horizontal scrolling. In addition, NetFront is the only mobile browser in the world to provide integrated support for Adobe® Reader® and Adobe’s ubiquitous portable document format (PDF).

The OMAP2420 includes the benefits of the OMAP 2 architecture’s parallel processing, giving users the ability to instantly run applications and operate multiple functions simultaneously without quality of service compromises.
