ACCESS’ NetFront™ v3.0 Browser to be Deployed in Sony CLIE PEG-NX70V/NX60 PDA

Tokyo, Japan / Fremont, CA, USA /Oberhausen, Germany – October 21, 2002 – ACCESS (Tokyo Stock Exchange: 4813), a leading global provider of software and services for IP-based consumer electronics devices, announces that Sony has licensed ACCESS’ NetFront^™ v3.0 browser for use in Sony’s CLIE PEG-NX70V / NX60 PDA, sales of which commenced in Japan on October 19, 2002 and are expected to begin in North America in late October.

NetFront v3.0 provides Sony CLIE PEG-NX70V/NX60 users with a rich and powerful mobile Internet experience, including SSL security. NetFront v3.0 for CLIE features the following special functions:

1. 320 x 420 dot high-resolution wide display compatibility
2. Three screen display settings:
   Standard display: displays web pages as they would normally appear on browser screen
   Reduced display: images and tables are reduced 50%
   “Just-Fit” display: images and tables are displayed in a layout that fits within the browser screen and text is wrapped within the screen margins
3. Page Memo: Save website pages as they are displayed on Memory Stick and browse online
4. Auto Cruise: Latest bookmark setting is automatically downloaded when connecting to the Internet
5. Tap and scroll function: Scroll in all directions by dragging cursor on screen
