Wind River Certifies ACCESS’ NetFront™ Browser

NetFrontBecomes First Certified Native Embedded Browser for Wind River’s VxWorks® Operating System

Tokyo, Japan / Fremont, CA, USA – September 5, 2002 – ACCESS (Tokyo Stock Exchange: 4813), a leading global provider of software and services for IP-based consumer electronics devices, today announced the certification of ACCESS’ NetFront Software Developers’ Kit (SDK) for Wind River’s (Nasdaq: WIND) VxWorks® real-time operating system (RTOS). Through Wind River’s WindLink Partner Program, ACCESS Systems America Inc., the North American subsidiary of ACCESS Inc., and Wind River Systems Inc. will work together to deliver a wide variety of solutions to customers worldwide. Furthermore, this certification strengthens the existing partnership by offering customers NetFront, the world’s most widely used embedded browser, as a pre-integrated solution with Wind River’s VxWorks RTOS, the most popular embedded operating system, and WindML, Wind River’s 2D graphics stack and device driver framework.

NetFront SDK is the first native browser development kit to be officially certified by Wind River’s VxWorks RTOS.

NetFront is a full-featured and efficient browser with sophisticated modularity. With over 62 million licenses sold and powering over 177 different consumer electronics Internet devices from over 40 major manufacturers, NetFront is the most widely used embedded browser in the world.
