- Hisense Selects ACCESS NetFront™ Browser BE To Power New 4K TV Models
The solution enables advanced web viewing on large high-definition screens
Tokyo, Japan, 13 June 2017 − ACCESS CO., LTD today announced that its high-performance browser, NetFront™ Browser BE, and a selection of complementary smart TV software products have been selected by the Hisense Group, which boasts one of the world’s largest share of the LCD TV market. The new 4K TV model, HJ43N500（43v) and HJ50N500（50v）, which features the ACCESS browser, will launch sequentially in Japan starting from mid June, 2017.
Hisense is providing a high cost performance series of 4K TVs to the Japanese market, with the new model delivering hi-performance 4K smart TV functions with an impressive design, as well as simple and sophisticated VOD services. Through the comprehensive adoption of ACCESS’s software products for digital TVs including NetFront Browser BE, the new model offers more compatibility with the latest generation Japan’s broadcast and VOD standards and YouTube to provide high added value.
In addition, digital terrestrial TV broadcasting and BS/CS digital broadcasting functions have been added to the new model based on NetFront™ Browser DTV Profile BML Edition SDK, BML browser porting development kit. This enables ACCESS to offer a variety of software solutions. This one-stop shop approach is essential for today’s Japanese TV market.
ACCESS will continue to enhance the functionality of the NetFront Browser series, powering cutting-edge Web viewing environments for television manufacturers and broadcasting companies including Hisense, and rapidly provide comprehensive 4K/8K next-generation broadcasting solutions.
NetFront Browser BE
NetFront Browser BE has been engineered to leverage the Chromium Blink HTML5 engine, with ACCESS providing enhanced media player APIs, improving performance and stability in embedded environments. NetFront Browser BE enables operators to leverage today’s high performance platforms to deliver an enhanced standards based user experience (UX) to their customers. It supports features from HTML5 (Canvas 2D, SVG, etc.), CSS3 (3D Transforms, Animations, Transitions, etc.) and WebGL, enabling STB/DTV manufacturers to take full advantage of hardware capabilities. NetFront Browser BE is a next-generation TV UI engine capable of delivering greatly enriched user interfaces (UIs) and user experiences (UXs) incorporating video, 3D graphics and animations on today’s latest SoC platforms. ACCESS also adds support for worldwide Digital TV standards and leverages the ACCESS experience deployed in over 1.5 billion units worldwide. Satisfying the market demand for media playback and control through proven and optimized external media players improves the use of system resources.

NetFront Browser DTV Profile BML Edition SDK
A BML browser porting development kit that is compliant with terrestrial digital data broadcasting (A profile) and BS/CS as defined by ARIB. It is based on the BML browser NetFront Browser DTV Profile which benefits from a proven track record in a large number of digital TVs. The DSM-CC module can be offered as an option.
