- ACCESS and Acacia Subsidiary License Smartphone Technology to Microsoft
Tokyo, Japan/Newport Beach, CA – (BUSINESS WIRE) October 7, 2010 – ACCESS Co., Ltd., a global provider of advanced software technologies to the mobile, beyond-PC and digital TV markets, and Smartphone Technologies LLC, a subsidiary of Acacia Research Corporation (Nasdaq: ACTG), announced today that they licensed to Microsoft a portfolio of patents related to smartphones owned by ACCESS Co., Ltd. The patents cover inventions created by ACCESS Co., Ltd., Palm, Palmsource, Bell Communications Research, and Geoworks.
