  • Gives hardware partners visibility with over 22,000 developers
  • Charter member ACEECA delivers series of new handheld devices based on ACCESS technologies

Sunnyvale, Calif, – August 9, 2010 – ACCESS CO., LTD., a global provider of advanced software technologies to the mobile, beyond-PC and digital TV markets, today announced the ACCESS Developer Network (ADN) Foundry, a partner program intended to help hardware developers around the world promote hardware deployment platforms based on ACCESS technologies. Through the ADN Foundry, hardware partners will gain visibility for their products with the over 22,000 software developer members of the ACCESS Developer Network, which provides technical and business development support to independent software developers. The ADN Foundry will serve as a one-stop source of information for software developers by showcasing hardware deployment platforms and devices available from ADN partners as well as links to partner websites.

The first devices to be released by an ADN Foundry partner are a new semi-ruggedized PDA and a rugged digital assistant being introduced by ADN Foundry charter member ACEECA, a New Zealand-based manufacturer specialized in rugged computing. ACEECA has announced the PDA32, a semi-rugged handheld PDA that features a fast CPU and large 2600 mAh battery, and the rugged digital assistant MEZ1500 which includes the MZIO expansion bus for easy customization for vertical market use. Both devices are based on ACCESS Garnet OS, which is popular among many developers and end users. Garnet OS supports a legacy of thousands of software applications, including some of the most popular mobile applications on the market as well as specialized applications for mobile industrial environments such as field-sales operations, manufacturing and transportation industries. “The ACCESS Developer Network Foundry program will accelerate the opportunities for our ecosystem of 22,000 software developers to work with hardware partners to deliver solutions on new products using ACCESS technologies,” said Tomihisa Kamada, president, CEO and co-founder of ACCESS. “By leveraging our software technology, companies can create and enhance devices to match specific customer needs.”
