ACCESS Brings Seamless Digital Living to IBC 2010

Showcases next-generation connectivity solutions for the expanding catch-up and connected TV markets

Amsterdam, The Netherlands, – August 3, 2010 – ACCESS CO., LTD., a global provider of advanced software technologies to the mobile, beyond-PC and digital TV markets, has announced its attendance at IBC 2010 (10-14 September, Amsterdam). ACCESS will showcase TV browser and DLNA-based (Digital Living Network Alliance) solutions that enable its customers to provide the consumer with seamless connectivity across all devices, including the TV and the set-top box.

Already the world leader in TV browsers, ACCESS has designed and produced a portfolio of solutions that support global and specific local TV standards to meet the expanding market for catch-up and connected TV services. The company’s TV-centric solutions include NetFront Living Connect, a next-generation DLNA Certified software solution that makes home networking a reality; NetFront Browser, which enables a number of TV applications and environments, including catch-up applications such as BBC iPlayer and HbbTV (Hybrid Broadcast Broadband TV); NetFront Media Player, for playback of streamed and broadcast video; and NetFront Widgets, which enables the creation of a widget ecosystem for content providers, device manufacturers and service providers.

ACCESS is appearing at IBC with some of its European partners, including:

  • Cabot Communications Ltd (Booth 1.A33) – ACCESS and Cabot have jointly developed an HbbTV solution that can be plugged into any digital TV or set-top box platform. The companies will show a HbbTV demo, as well as a fully integrated DLNA solution
  • Pirelli Broadband Solutions (Booth 4.A71) – the company’s Residential Gateway DRG A226M is operating with ACCESS NetFront Living Connect and has successfully completed the DLNA Certification & Logo program
  • Vestel Electronics (Booth IP350) – has selected ACCESS’ NetFront Browser, NetFront Living Connect and recently announced a HbbTV plug-in package for its entire range of connected digital TV’s and set-top boxes.
