- Vestel Standardizes on ACCESS NetFront™ Series DLNA and HbbTV Browser for Its Digital TVs and Set-Top Boxes
Tokyo, Japan and Manisa, Turkey, – June 8, 2010 – ACCESS CO., LTD a global provider of advanced software technologies to the mobile, beyond-PC and digital TV markets, and Vestel Electronics, a leading OEM and ODM in the consumer electronics and digital products markets, today announced that Vestel has selected ACCESS NetFront™ Browser, NetFront™ Living Connect and recently announced HbbTV (Hybrid Broadcast Broadband TV) Plug-in package for its entire range of connected digital TVs and set-top boxes.
Vestel will use ACCESS technologies to add cutting-edge capabilities to its rich family of DTV products, including TV-optimized full Internet browsing with NetFront Browser, new digital home networking capabilities with NetFront Living Connect and seamless access to broadband and broadcast programs and services alike, with the HbbTV Plug-in package. Vestel is the second largest global OEM supplier of digital TV products, with 10 million units sold last year. ACCESS NetFront™ series technologies, including NetFront Browser and NetFront Living Connect, have reached almost 900 million deployments worldwide in over 2000 different devices.

The plug-in approach ensures a smooth HbbTV-compliant upgrade path. Based on existing, proven components from companies with longstanding experience in the digital TV market, the HbbTV plug-in package combines stability and flexibility with optimized development and can work in synergy with other ACCESS solutions for the connected digital TV market.
