- ACCESS to Exhibit at GSMA Mobile World Congress 2009
Tokyo, Japan, – February 4, 2009 – ACCESS CO., LTD., a global provider of advanced software technologies to the mobile and beyond-PC markets, today announced that it will be an exhibitor at GSMA Mobile World Congress 2009, which takes place February 16-19 in Barcelona, Spain. GSMA Mobile World Congress is the world’s largest exhibition for the mobile industry, bringing together prominent leaders and personalities from mobile operators and equipment vendors, as well as Internet and entertainment professionals. This year’s event marks the eighth time that ACCESS will be present at Mobile World Congress, which is expected to draw approximately 50,000 attendees.
ACCESS will be exhibiting its lineup of cutting-edge products for mobile and beyond-PC markets under the theme “Open Up Your World.” The lineup includes ACCESS Linux Platform™, an open, flexible, next-generation mobile software platform based on Linux®; the comprehensive Widget solution NetFront™ Widgets; NetFront™ Living Connect, the DLNA guideline-compliant middleware for home network equipment; and NetFront™ Browser for mobile handsets and Internet-enabled devices.
Visitors to Mobile World Congress can acquaint themselves with the advanced user interface for ACCESS Linux Platform™ v3.0, the latest version of the company’s mobile Linux platform; check out devices featuring NetFront Widgets; and learn more about NetFront Living Connect, the powerful network solution for the remote sharing of digital content, such as music and video clips, on the user’s home server.
Dr. Tomihisa Kamada, president and co-chief executive officer, ACCESS CO., LTD., will speak at the “Mobilising Open Source” session on Wednesday, February 18, joining other prominent speakers to discuss the future of open source in a mobile world. Dr. Kamada’s presentation on the topic “Open Source as the building block for efficient and cost-effective innovation” will take place at 2:40pm, in Hall 5, Auditorium 3 of the exhibition complex.
In advance of Mobile World Congress 2009, the NetFront Widgets community site is offering a free set of “Barcelona Widgets” for map, weather and local news.
Windows Mobile and S60 handset users can download “NetFront Widgets Player Mobile World Congress 2009 Special Edition,” a package of “Barcelona Widgets” and a free player from the English-language community sites for PC and mobile users.

The ACCESS booth will be located in the Courtyard Area CY10, Fira de Barcelona. Exhibit hours are Monday 16th – Wednesday 18th February: 9:00am–7:00pm and Thursday 19th February: 9:00am – 5:00pm.
