ACCESS Unveils Faster NetFront™ Browser High-Speed Upgrade to Feature in WILLCOM Handset

Tokyo, Japan, – August 27 2007 – ACCESS CO., LTD announced today that it has applied optimized data compression protocols to its current version of NetFront Browser to realize high-speed browsing of mobile and PC websites. This more powerful NetFront Browser is being made available to WILLCOM for use in its WX321J PHS handset.

Future releases of the WX321J handset, which is produced by Japan Radio Co., Ltd. and which made its debut on February 15th this year, will include the faster NetFront Browser.
Customers, who purchased a WX321J prior to this enhancement, will be able to upgrade to the higher-speed NetFront Browser in September through a free download from WILLCOM’s Web site, where they also will find new services that make the most of the enhanced browser
NetFront Browser is optimized for mobile handsets, supporting full browser capability and realizing high performance even in environments with limited memory and CPU resources. The speed of NetFront Browser now has been increased via integration with technology from Bytemobile, Inc. that optimizes data compression protocols. The result is that download speeds for mobile and PC sites have been raised considerably, enabling smooth, hassle-free browsing. The faster NetFront Browser is the first to benefit from the license agreement concluded between ACCESS and Bytemobile in July this year. ACCESS plans to provide its faster NetFront Browser for other handsets in the future.

“We are pleased to introduce ACCESS’ newly enhanced NetFront Browser for use in our products, adding extra value to our handsets,” said Yoshioki Chika, Director and Executive Vice President of WILLCOM, Inc. “We are committed to continually improving our data communications services and look forward to working with ACCESS to achieve our common goal: providing customers with services of the highest possible quality.”

ACCESS and WILLCOM concluded a software supply agreement in November 2005, as a result of which ACCESS now provides mobile applications to most WILLCOM handset makers. ACCESS’ NetFront Mobile Client Suite is a comprehensive, flexible, modular, and extensible packaged solution that takes the evolving phoneware category to new levels of efficiency and functionality. By providing a package that includes browser, mail software, Java runtime environment and software for viewing Microsoft® Office and PDF files, ACCESS helps cut development time and cost, reducing time to market. ACCESS will continue contributing to the drive to achieve faster, more advanced mobile environments attractive to business.
