Industry Support Grows for ACCESS Global Partner Program

  • Eight new members added to ACCESS Connect Ecosystem partner program

LINUXWORLD CONFERENCE & EXPO, SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF. – August 6, 2007 – ACCESS CO., LTD., today announced the addition of eight new members to the growing roster of companies supporting its ACCESS Linux Platform and NetFront browser technologies through the ACCESS Connect Ecosystem (ACE) global partner program. New members include companies in strategic, high growth geographies, like China, as well as mobile Linux®-based partners that provide tools and technologies that harness the full power of native Linux solutions for the mobile and beyond PC markets.  The addition of the eight new members brings the total number ACE partners to over 65.

ACE partners work closely with ACCESS to expand the mobile Linux market and help fuel the growth of converged technologies and devices.  Recent announcements from ACCESS and ACE partners on joint solutions and business opportunities demonstrate the value that a robust ecosystem can deliver to customers and to the industry as a whole.

The Mobile Linux Market Is Gaining Momentum
ABI Research forecasts that by 2012, more than 127 million devices will be enabled with a commercial Linux OS, up from 8.1 million in 2007. Additionally, device shipments that incorporate Linux as an RTOS replacement are set to grow to more than 76 million units in 2012, up from nearly zero in 2007. “Linux within the cellular phone is not a question of if, but when,” said ABI Research Director Stuart Carlaw.
