- Industry Support Grows for ACCESS Global Partner Program
LINUXWORLD CONFERENCE & EXPO, SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF. – August 6, 2007 – ACCESS CO., LTD., today announced the addition of eight new members to the growing roster of companies supporting its ACCESS Linux Platform™ and NetFront™ browser technologies through the ACCESS™ Connect Ecosystem (ACE™) global partner program. ACE partners work closely with ACCESS to expand the mobile Linux market and help fuel the growth of converged technologies and devices. The Mobile Linux Market Is Gaining Momentum
ABI Research forecasts that by 2012, more than 127 million devices will be enabled with a commercial Linux OS, up from 8.1 million in 2007. Additionally, device shipments that incorporate Linux as an RTOS replacement are set to grow to more than 76 million units in 2012, up from nearly zero in 2007. “Linux within the cellular phone is not a question of if, but when,” said ABI Research Director Stuart Carlaw.
