ACCESS Expands Partnership with China Unicom to Support PushMail Service with NetFront™ M-IMAP Client Solution

Tokyo, — Japan, July 19, 2007 — ACCESS CO., LTD. today announced that its NetFront M-IMAP Client mobile messaging solution has been named push email client solution of choice for all CDMA handset vendors supporting China Unicom’s new PushMail service. China Unicom is the third largest mobile operator in the world in terms of total subscribers. China Unicom’s version of NetFront M-IMAP Client for PushMail bundles with ACCESS NetFront Document Viewer, the software solution that enables full viewing of Microsoft® Office documents, including Word, Excel® and PowerPoint®, on mobile handsets.

ACCESS NetFront M-IMAP Client fully supports PushMail, and is designed to help end-users instantly and actively transfer (“push”) e-mail not only between mobile phones, but also between mobile phones and the Internet. By deploying NetFront M-IMAP Client software in their products, CDMA handset vendors can support China Unicom’s PushMail functionality seamlessly.

New Features of ACCESS NetFront M-IMAP Client include:
  • Multi-accounts support
  • Advanced mail sorting, filtering and protection
  • Attachment preview support

“We are very pleased to partner with China Unicom with our NetFront M-IMAP Client solution,” said Pierre Suhandinata, president and chief executive officer of ACCESS China. “Being named the preferred solution for manufacturers of PushMail-enabled CDMA phones is a clear sign of our successful and expanding partnership with China Unicom.”

ACCESS established a partnership with China Unicom in August 2002 to provide its NetFront M-IMAP Client mobile messaging solution to all CDMA handset vendors and support China Unicom’s “U-Mail” email service. Currently, there are over 150 CDMA handset models integrated with NetFront M-IMAP Client in the Chinese market.

With the evolution of China Unicom’s email service from U-Mail to PushMail, ACCESS is providing CDMA handset vendors with an upgraded version of NetFront M-IMAP Client. This software is compatible with Internet e-mail, and therefore fully compatible with PC and Internet-based e-mails. In addition, the product delivers powerful mail capabilities including an intuitive user interface, universal compatibility and advanced multimedia support. NetFront M-IMAP Client has been extended to support original SMIL content, making it fully compatible with MMS. In addition, NetFront M-IMAP Client works with the NetFront Document Viewer extension module to provide quick and easy access to Microsoft Office documents. With the development of China Unicom’s email service, NetFront M-IMAP Client further expands its edge as a leading software application.

China Unicom believes that world-class service combined with the versatility and technological innovativeness of ACCESS NetFront M-IMAP Client-enabled PushMail service is a clear demonstration of its commitment to providing an outstanding mobile experience to Chinese customers. Enhancements to the ACCESS NetFront M-IMAP Client solution position the company to take customers to the next level in their mobile phone experience; as such, China Unicom is happy to recommend this solution to all CDMA handset vendors.
