ACCESS Co-Founder Tomihisa Kamada to Participate in MIT/Stanford Venture Lab “Battle of the Mobile Operating Systems”

ACCESS CO. LTD.’s co-founder and CTO, Tomihisa (Tomy) Kamada, joins a prestigious panel of mobile industry luminaries to discuss future directions in the global mobile OS market at the June meeting of the MIT/Stanford Venture Lab (VLAB).

When:Tuesday, June 19, 2007, 6:00 PM – 8:30 PM
Where:Bishop Auditorium, Stanford University Graduate School of Business 518 Memorial Way, Stanford, California

VLAB is the San Francisco Bay Area chapter of the MIT Enterprise Forum, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the growth and success of high-tech entrepreneurial ventures by connecting ideas, technology and people. VLAB events are a forum for entrepreneurs, industry experts, venture capitalists, private investors and technologists to exchange insights about how to effectively grow high-tech ventures amidst dynamic market risks and challenges. The June 19th event will bring together key players in the mobile ecosystem to discuss what is next on the mobile OS world stage.

A successful entrepreneur in his own right, Kamada brings a unique perspective on Japan and the latest technologies from this world leader in mobile communications technology. Founded in 1984 by Kamada and Toru Arakawa, ACCESS today is the world’s leading provider of software solutions for the mobile and beyond-PC markets. ACCESS technologies were central to the development of the world’s first successful mobile data service and are now deployed in millions of devices. ACCESS software is incorporated not only in most mobile phones in Japan, but also some 1100 mobile phone models, totaling some 378 million devices worldwide, and growing by millions each month.

How will the dominant mobile operating systems and the handset manufacturers that build compelling mobile experiences on top of these OSs evolve in today’s changing market? How will the mobile OS market react to the functions of the iPhone? Will Linux phones transition from Asia to the rest of the world? Hear Kamada and others debate the future at the “Battle of the Mobile Operating Systems.”

The event is open to the public. For more information, visit www.vlab.org. For additional information on ACCESS Co., Ltd., visit www.access-company.com.
