TOKYO, Japan, – October 17, 2006 – ACCESS CO., LTD.(TSE:4813), announced that KDDI Corporation has adopted ACCESS’ NetFrontSync Client and NetFront Sync Server as a combined data software solution for its new Address Book Entrust Safety Service and au My Page service, which are slated for launch in late October 2006.

Security services designed to protect personal information in mobile phones are gaining importance as Japanese mobile phone carriers prepare to launch mobile phone number portability services.  The synergy of NetFront Sync Client and NetFront Sync Server will enable telecommunication carriers to seamlessly integrate data stored in mobile devices and that in servers to enhance usability as well as security.  NetFront Sync Client empowers users to store address book data from au mobile phones on a dedicated KDDI server through KDDI’s Address Book Entrust Safety Service.  au My Page is a personal portal site that enable users to store photographs, schedules and other data from au mobile phones.  KDDI has adopted ACCESS’ NetFront Sync Server software for both services as part of the company’s effort to kick-start these new services.

ACCESS’ innovative approach to provide a combination of software products which support telecommunication carriers to fulfill needs to connect data attracted KDDI and as a result, KDDI has selected a number of software products from ACCESS that support a variety of multimedia functions included in its au mobile phone services. These products include the mobile messaging solution NetFront M-IMAP Client and the NetFront DTV Profile Wireless Edition, a browser that supports BML (Broadcast Markup Language) and is compatible with One Seg, Japan’s digital terrestrial television broadcasting standard for mobile phones and Media:, which allows users to switch to digital broadcasts from phone or email. In addition, KDDI has adopted the NetFront SMIL Player, which enables playback of multimedia formats, for its “EZ Channel Plus” service launched on September 21.

“We are pleased to provide NetFront Sync Client and NetFront Sync Server for services that provide secure data storage for mobile phones,” said Toru Arakawa, CEO and co-founder, ACCESS. “We will continue to provide a mobile environment that meets user needs by expanding possibilities for new mobile services.”
