NTT Selects ACCESS NetFront™ Browser for its New IP TV Telephone Flet’sphone VP1000

Tokyo, Japan – July 20, 2004 – ACCESS (Tokyo Stock Exchange: 4813), a global provider of mobile content delivery and Internet access technologies, today announced that its flagship embedded browser NetFront has been bundled in the new IP TV telephone Flet’sphone VP1000 released today by NTT West Japan and NTT East Japan.

The IP TV telephone Flet’sphone VP1000 was developed by NTT East/West as a standard device to take advantage of growing broadband access. Flet’sphoneVP1000 is a simple, user-friendly TV telephone terminal with touch-panel operation, requiring no PC. By supporting L-mode on Flet’s type II, Flet’sphone offers Internet access and applications such as e-mail through NTT’s L-mode services. This broadband terminal is easy to use for everyone.

ACCESS’NetFront is the most widely deployed and actively used mobile browser in the world, with more than 126 million deployments globally that include 280 unique devices ranging from mobile phones and PDAs to digital televisions, gaming consoles, and automobile telematics systems.

NetFront has been bundled with NTT’s L-mode telephones since the first product release to provide Web browsing and email capabilities. ACCESS collaborated with NTT East/West to develop a version of NetFront tailored to the L-mode on Flet’s type II and bundled in the IP TV telephone, enabling a new generation of rich broadband content and services.
