ACCESS Announces NetFront™ Dynamic Menu for Dynamic Over-the-Air Mobile Services

Advanced UI Framework Supports All Major Standards for Pushed and Pulled Content and Easy Integration with Handset Applications

SanDiego, California, BREW Developers Conference – June 9, 2004 – ACCESS (Tokyo Stock Exchange: 4813), a global provider of mobile content delivery and Internet access technologies, today announced the availability of NetFront Dynamic Menu, an advanced UI framework that enables the dynamic delivery of advanced mobile services and programs over-the-air. NetFront Dynamic Menu is based on ACCESS’ widely used NetFront Rendering Engine and facilitates full integration between handset applications and all standards-based content benefiting both mobile operators and mobile handset manufacturers.

With NetFront Dynamic Menu mobile operators can push and pull their own branded or co-branded content and services directly to and from any handset, regardless of the operating system. Dynamic content enables mobile operators to provide their subscribers with a new and dramatically compelling mobile experience that generates greater interest and interaction, strengthens operator branding and co-branding, and stimulates end-user participation in new, revenue-generating services and programs.

For example, using NetFront Dynamic Menu technology, operators can allow subscribers to create a customized home screen with favorite services like news, weather, sports scores, SMS or calendars that are dynamically updated throughout the day. Dynamic content delivered directly to the home screen stimulates increased usage and data traffic driving additional revenue and partner opportunities.

NetFront Dynamic Menu also offers significant advantages to content creators since dynamic content can be developed using standard formats like HTML, ECMAScript, CSS, SMIL, SVG, easing the development or re-purposing of original content.

“ACCESS is committed to providing the most advanced mobile technologies in the world. With NetFront Dynamic Menu, we are again driving innovation and delivering benefits throughout the mobile ecosystem, including consumers, mobile operators, handset manufacturers, and content creators,” said Toru Arakawa, President and Chief Executive Officer of ACCESS. “Most importantly, NetFront Dynamic Menu makes the mobile Internet more fun and useful to the millions of subscribers that until now have only enjoyed static content.”
