- ACCESS Systems America Joins CDMA Development Group; Seeks to Help Promote Standards in Wireless Industry Industry
FREMONT, CA – February 12, 2002 – ACCESS Systems America, a global provider of innovative embedded software and server solutions for the wireless and wired industry, today announced that it has joined the CDMA Development Group (CDG) to help lead the adoption and implementation of CDMA wireless systems around the world. The CDG is comprised of the world’s leading CDMA service providers and manufacturers.
“We have been closely working with the CDG to define next-generation data service requirements, so we look forward to being a active member,” said Sergei Krupenin, Senior Product Marketing Manager at ACCESS Systems America. “We feel we will be able to provide valuable input into helping the CDG define IOTA [Internet Protocol Over The Air] provisioning.”
“We welcome ACCESS Systems America to the CDG,” said Perry LaForge, executive director of the CDG. “ACCESS’ wireless software and server solutions give the company unique insight on next-generation data services and business models. We believe they will be important contributors to the CDMA community and to the advancement of wireless communications.”
By joining the CDG, ACCESS Systems America reinforces its commitment to help promote open, IP-based wireless standards. The development of the Compact HTML standard, driven by ACCESS Systems in cooperation with Matsushita, NEC, Fujitsu, Mitsubishi and SONY, through the WWW Consortium is a previous example of the company’s commitment to promote such standards globally.
“Standards like TCP/IP, IPv6, XHTML and Java will help drive the evolution of the always-on pervasive Internet,” stated Krupenin. “Broadband connections to the home and 2.5G and 3G wireless services will provide the bandwidth for exciting new services like mobile digital television, telematics, and home monitoring systems. With standards, the post-PC Internet and the wireless Internet will become a stream of data and services that anyone can access, anytime and anywhere.”
