- Latest NetRange Developments to Turbo Boost Smart TV Market Traction in 2021 through lowered CAPEX & OPEX and new Advertising opportunities
Hamburg, Germany, April 19, 2021 – NetRange MMH GmbH (‘NetRange’), the global provider of white-labelled, turnkey Smart TV and OTT ecosystems, today announced that its innovative solutions are driving forward the functionality and global market momentum for Smart TV.
The recent NetRange Smart TV market driving developments include:
“2020 was a great year for NetRange in Smart TV; we are particularly proud to have achieved the successful completion of 27 premium VoD certifications, including JioSaavn, SonyLIV and Vevo,” says Dr. Neale Foster, managing director, NetRange.
“We’re now building on the success of the NetRange Smart TV App Store with important developments, including new-hires in Shenzhen to facilitate the opening of a tech support function in China to aid the country’s Smart TV manufacturers that have selected NetRange solutions. Our unique VISNOS solution is reducing device and operational costs, enabling Smart TV to grow faster in cost-conscious territories. We are also set to launch new Smart TV advertising opportunities, which will further support AVOD business success. Through these measures, it’s our aim that NetRange will continue to drive the meteoric rise of Smart TV through 2021 and beyond,” concluded Foster.
The NetRange Smart TV App Store solution provides customers with access to a pioneering, feature-rich ecosystem and global media content. The App Store combines leading international premium VoD applications, sports content, games, news apps and linear TV channels, through 1000+ apps from over 100 different countries, to meet global consumer demand for easy navigation to premium connected TV content.
The NetRange VISNOS platform removes the requirement for a TV browser, a major element of the integration effort and incremental cost for CE device manufacturers building Smart TVs for the most price-sensitive regions. VISNOS also supports the casting of YouTube from mobile devices to the TV, adding to the services that NetRange can cast to the TV.
The VISNOS software on the TV sends remote control clicks to the VISNOS cloud platform from entry-level TVs. VISNOS then efficiently sends the Smart TV UI back to the TV as graphics. When the consumer starts a video playback, VISNOS routes the video directly from the video server to the connected TV – all without the need for high-level processing in the TV or the ability to run a browser.
