- ACCESS and NEOTION Demonstrate Integration of DLNA CVP-2 Guidelines with Secure HDMI Dongle to Power Multi-screen Monetization
Oberhausen, Germany, − 8th September, 2014 − ACCESS CO., LTD. (IBC stand 14.D14), a global provider of advanced software technologies to the mobile, beyond-PC and digital TV markets, and NEOTION (IBC stand 4.B53), a French high-tech company providing innovative solutions for the international Digital Television market, will showcase at IBC 2014 the integration of ACCESS’ NetFront™ Living Connect DLNA Technology Component™ and NetFront™ Browser NX with NEOTION SECURE HDMI Dongle. The joint solution enables TV operators to launch cost-effective “broadcast over IP” multi-room services based on headless gateways and thin clients.
The NEOTION SECURE HDMI Dongle combined with ACCESS’ multiscreen client allows operators to leverage a small size device to easily share content with the TV to launch ‘studio confident’ secured media sharing services compatible with any screen.
“Embedding the NetFront Browser NX and NetFront Living Connect in our SECURE HDMI Dongle is a compelling solution to bring enhanced viewer experience to Pay-TV subscribers by pushing content from mobile devices to TVs, as well as browsing operator services and accessing web-based TV services such as OTT and VoD,” said Nicolas STEFANELLI, Technical Marketing Manager, Pay-Tv & Secure Devices at NEOTION.
He added that: “Multiscreen has become an integral part of the operator’s consumer proposition and they require a hardware solution that facilitates secure, seamless media consumption on all screens including managed and unmanaged devices as well as content from outside the home. By integrating ACCESS’ flexible and efficient software with our SECURE HDMI Dongle, Neotion is able to offer next generation streaming capability to our customers. Adding support for the new DLNA CVP-2 guidelines also future-proofs the solution, making it particularly suited for operators looking to launch multiscreen services on the go”.
Dr. Neale FOSTER, COO and VP Global Sales TV, ACCESS Europe, said: “The largest headache for an operator deploying multiscreen is the increasing gap between the simplicity the consumer wants and the technological complexity of launching and managing multiscreen services. At IBC, we’re demonstrating how to efficiently bridge this security and interoperability gap, which will become crucial as the industry adopts portable gateways such as the NEOTION HDMI Dongle. As the multiscreen market matures, the need for standards and secure solutions to ensure interoperability increases, and these are two key areas that ACCESS has invested in for many years, resulting in the Dongle demonstration we will be showcasing at this year’s IBC.”
