ACCESS Showcases Integration of Media Sharing and TV-Centric Browser Deployment with Zenterio OS at IBC

The integration of ACCESS-powered TV-centric HTML5 browsing and DLNA-based media with Zenterio’s operating systems gives both customers full A to Z TV solutions based on open technologies

Oberhausen, Germany, − 02 September, 2014 − ACCESS CO., LTD. (IBC stand 14.D14), a global provider of advanced software technologies to the mobile, beyond-PC and digital TV markets and Zenterio, the provider of the independent operating system platform for interactive TV, today announced the full integration and deployment of ACCESS’ media sharing and TV-centric browser with Zenterio OS. The integration of ACCESS’ key media sharing component NetFront™ Living Connect completes the cycle that started with the integration of NetFront™ Browser NX with Zenterio OS, announced at IBC 2013.

Magyar Telekom and M7 Group, two leading operators in Europe, have already deployed the solution. The integration provides Magyar Telekom customers with a transparent solution to share content stored on the PVR securely, allowing for multiroom recordings, while NetFront Browser NX combined with Zenterio OS enables M7 Group to render its User Interface (UI). M7 TV service live deployment took only three and a half months from decision to launch.

“Operators are increasingly turning to open, standards-based solutions to deploy seamless multiscreen services on all devices and the integration of our solutions with Zenterio OS provides them with a technologically advanced, complete multiscreen solution,” explained Dr Neale Foster, COO and Global VP Sales TV, ACCESS Europe. “The combination of ACCESS and Zenterio solutions enables operators to meet the fragmentation issues faced when launching multiscreen. The integration of our software platform with Zenterio OS provides operators with a toolkit meeting the A to Z of multiscreen deployment.”

“Our partnership with ACCESS is an ideal solution for two innovative operators looking to provide next generation multiscreen services,” said Robin Rutil, CEO, Zenterio. “This year’s IBC is dedicated to interactive TV solutions across the value chain. The combined ACCESS and Zenterio solution provides operators with a robust solution that ensures secure media sharing on any device, enabling operators to focus on creating new experiences that surpass consumer expectations.”

NetFront™ Living Connect is a market-leading DLNA Technology Component™ solution that enables the quick and efficient implementation of services that support DLNA standards on consumer electronic devices including mobile phones, digital cameras, printers, DVD players, game consoles, digital TVs, set-top boxes, network attached storage (NAS) boxes and more. NetFront Living Connect has achieved an extensive track record of successful DLNA Certified® device deployments on a variety of consumer electronic devices offered by leading manufacturers in markets throughout the world. NetFront Living Connect also offers support for DLNA Premium Video Guidelines, enabling the secure sharing of high-quality, premium commercial video.

The NetFront™ Browser series provides the ultimate embedded browser choice, providing outstanding Internet viewing experiences, world leading rendering speed, HTML5 compliance and optimized memory-usage. It is pre-installed in a wide variety of devices including TVs, gaming devices and in-vehicle infotainment systems. The browser series supports the latest global broadcasting and communications standards, such as HbbTV, Hybridcast, BML and Ginga and continues to evolve to offer higher performance and even easier device integration.

Zenterio OS(http://www.zenterio.com/product/zenterio-os/) is an operating system that enables TV operators to make independent hardware, middleware and back-end solution choices. Zenterio ensures that operators are free to focus on service development as an independent business driver rather than staying locked in by current ecosystem limitations. The system features an extensive framework architecture, which enables fast adaptations to market needs and introductions of new ‘must have’ features; including multiscreen, music services, interactive advertising, interactive TV and social interactivity.
