840z First ZTE 3G Mobile Handset for Japanese Market

Beijing, China, – November 30, 2010 – ACCESS China Inc., a subsidiary of ACCESS CO., LTD., a global provider of advanced software technologies to the mobile and beyond-PC markets, today announced that ZTE Corporation, a leading global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions has deployed ACCESS’ NetFront Browser on ZTE’s new 840z mobile handset for SOFTBANK MOBILE, one of the three major telecom operators in Japan. This is the first time that ZTE has been selected by SOFTBANK MOBILE as a handset provider, and it is also the first time for ZTE to enter the Japanese 3G market.

ZTE’s 840z handset was recently released by SOFTBANK MOBILE. The 840z is designed for ease of use, with oversized keys, large fonts and easy access to frequently dialed numbers via three one-touch keys, which makes it ideal for elderly subscribers. The 840z handset prominently features NetFront Browser, the most advanced, versatile and powerful full Internet browser for mobile and beyond-PC devices. According to ThinkBank1 ACCESS garnered the highest market share for mobile browsers in China’s 3G markets in 2009. Chinese manufacturers of 3G handsets including ZTE have consistently selected ACCESS NetFront products as the software of choice for devices targeted at global markets as well as China domestic market.

“ZTE selected NetFront Browser for its first handset for the Japanese 3G market based on NetFront Browser’s proven track record. Our partnership with ACCESS supports ZTE’s mission to be a global communications leader that provides customers throughout the world with advanced and highly satisfying products and services,” said Mr.Ding Ning, vice general manager of GSM & UMTS handset products of ZTE.

“Since ACCESS started operations in China 8 years ago, we have been supporting Chinese mobile handset manufacturers to develop and launch handsets locally. We are honored that ZTE has selected NetFront Browser for its first 3G mobile phone for the Japanese market. ACCESS will continue to provide products and services for Chinese handset manufacturers to help them develop advanced mobile phones for the global market,” said Zhao Min, president and CEO of ACCESS China.

NetFront products, including NetFront Browser for mobile handsets and Internet-enabled devices, have been deployed in approximately 951 million devices worldwide, representing 2,157 different device models.
