ACCESS and Bytemobile Partner To Deliver Fast Full Web Browsing on Mobile Handsets

TOKYO, Japan and MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., July 25, 2007 — ACCESS CO., LTD. and Bytemobile, Inc. today announced a global partnership to co-develop and market solutions, which will dramatically improve the Web browsing experience for mobile devices. Under the agreement, the two companies will work together to integrate Bytemobile’s embedded browser optimization (EBO) technology with the award-winning ACCESS NetFront Browser and NetFront Mobile Client Suite (NMCS). The combined solution will allow for faster full Internet page downloads on smartphones and feature phones, and transparently improve download performance by up to 4x over existing technologies on most wireless networks.

The optimized solution will benefit network operators, as well as their customers, by reducing data volumes and improving bandwidth efficiencies, in addition to enhancing the overall browsing experience for end users.

The two companies will also co-sell optimized ACCESS browsers integrated with Bytemobile’s Unison Optimization Services Node (OSN) Monaco Edition to the customers of each company. This combination will provide both client-server and server-based optimization of Web browsing on mobile handsets.

The Bytemobile customer base includes more than 75 carriers in over 45 countries. The ACCESS NetFront Browser provides full Internet browsing from more than 1,151 commercial devices, including PDAs and smartphones. There are currently over 396 million NetFront Browser deployments around the world.

“Consumer demand for open Internet access on handsets is emerging rapidly around the world, following the lead set by Japan,” said Adrian Hall, vice president of Marketing and Business Development, Bytemobile. “We believe that this trend — coupled with the increasing affordability of smartphones and the proliferation of feature phones — will provide major opportunities for Bytemobile and ACCESS to deliver innovative customer solutions that take the Web to a new level of mobility.”

“ACCESS constantly strives to improve the full Internet browsing experience for users of mobile devices,” said Toru Arakawa, ACCESS CEO, president and co-founder. “Our agreement with Bytemobile leverages the versatility and power of the NetFront Browser with the accelerated performance of OSN to help mobile network operators deliver enhanced network and content services to their customers.”

On February 12, 2007, ACCESS announced the launch of its ACCESS Connect Ecosystem (ACE) Global Partner Program and named Bytemobile as a charter member. The ACE partner program is designed to create an ecosystem of world-class partners that will unleash the potential of the digital life generation by driving development and adoption of new mobile converged technologies and solutions.
