Samsung Selects ACCESS NetFront™ i-mode™ Global Profile for Its First European i-mode Global Handset

Profile Provides Comprehensive, Integrated Software Solution Including Browser, Messaging Client, Java Virtual Machine, SSL Client, and TCP/IP Protocol Stack

TOKYO, Japan / NEWARK, CA, USA / OBERHAUSEN, Germany / BEIJING, China – November 16, 2004 – ACCESS Co., Ltd. (Tokyo Stock Exchange: 4813), a global provider of mobile content delivery and Internet access technologies, today announced that its NetFront^™ i-mode^™ Global Profile has been selected by Samsung for deployment in its SGH-S341i, the company’s first European i-mode Global handset. The profile deployment includes ACCESS’ NetFront browser, messaging client, JV-Lite^™2 Wireless Edition (a Sun-authorized Java client), SSL client and TCP/IP protocol stack.

NetFront i-mode Global Profile integrates ACCESS Internet software technologies previously deployed for NTT DoCoMo’s i-mode service into a comprehensive solution that offers operators and their handset partners seamless i-mode Global deployments while reducing overall cost and time-to-market. All technologies comprising NetFront i-mode Global Profile were developed by ACCESS ensuring tight interoperability optimized specifically for the i-mode Global service and proven in over 40 million deployments of i-mode handsets in Japan and over 3.5 million i-mode Global handset deployments throughout the world.
