ACCESS Hosts Stanford Entrepreneurial Student Organization at Summit Focusing on Global Business and Technology

ACCESS Systems America Joins Intel, NVIDIA, and Sony to Promote Global Entrepreneurship

FREMONT, CA – April 11, 2002 – ACCESS Systems America, a leading global provider of software and services for IP-based consumer electronics devices, will participate in Stanford University’s Global Entrepreneurship Summit sponsored by the school’s Asia/Pacific Student Entrepreneurial Society (ASES) on Thursday, April 11. ACCESS, as well as Intel Corporation, NVIDIA Corporation, and Sony Corporation will each host ASES members at onsite visits to their corporations. The event will also feature presentations from leading venture capital firms such as Walden International and Garage Technology Ventures.

This year’s event will focus on global entrepreneurship, exploring themes such as global business practices, trends in high-tech development, and successful business models in the post-boom economy. Over 50 participants from various Pacific Rim countries and the U.S. representing 13 different universities will participate in lectures, panels, workshops, and social events intended to provide aspiring Asian entrepreneurs education and networking opportunities with leading global technology companies such as ACCESS.

“ACCESS was founded by two entrepreneurial students like the guests we will be hosting for ASES’ summit, and has since become the type of rapidly growing global and high-tech company that the summit will feature this year,” said Kiyo Oishi, president of ACCESS Systems America. “We are pleased to participate in ASES’ summit to help support and promote entrepreneurship throughout the world.”

“Our summit themes this year include global business and high-tech development and we naturally invited companies that are leaders in these areas,” stated Sherman Li, President of ASES Stanford chapter. “As a contributor to the success of the Japanese i-mode wireless service, ACCESS’ progressive technology and global growth represent accomplishments that ASES members can learn from and aspire to.”

The annual week-long summit began Sunday, April 7 and will conclude with a closing dinner Friday, April 12.
