ACCESS Linux Platform mini is a scalable and customizable platform with a comprehensive application suite that is market-ready and widely deployed in devices ranging from low-end smartphones to Internet-enabled, beyond-PC devices, including portable navigation devices, portable media players and set-top boxes. As the newest member of the ACCESS family of mobile Linux platform solutions, ACCESS Linux Platform mini delivers a comprehensive, yet compact Linux platform for mobile and beyond-PC devices.

With a standard Linux kernel, customizable UI layer, telephony server and other middleware, ACCESS Linux Platform mini provides a comprehensive, yet compact platform that can be readily adapted to specific implementations on a wide range of cost-effective Internet-enabled devices. Because of its standards compatibility and easy customization, ACCESS Linux Platform mini can be ported onto mainstream application processors and hardware devices provided by major peripheral equipment vendors. As part of its ACCESS Linux Platform mini solution, ACCESS also provides customers and partners with technical services to help enhance their competitiveness in the global market, including product customization, localization, integration and professional QA services.

Open Architecture Based on Components and Services
Each software layer of ACCESS Linux Platform mini is designed to be functionally independent, making it easy to upgrade the entire platform or just specific layers. ACCESS Linux Platform mini features a robust and well-defined communications interface between software layers. These independent software layers enable concurrent development across all layers, ensuring easy assembly, testing and acceptance across all subsystems. With its independent layers, ACCESS Linux Platform mini can significantly reduce time-to-market- for licensees' products. The PMP/PND Profile is designed for next-generation Internet devices with resource-constrained requirements, including portable media players (PMP), portable navigation devices (PND), and mobile TV.
