UI content in NetFront FlexUI is created in the SWF file format. Content based on Flash technology, which designers generally use when developing UI concepts, can be reproduced in the final UI exactly as the designer envisaged it. This helps to overcome a major drawback of UI development – frequent backtracking due to inconsistency between design and implementation – thereby reducing development costs.

NetFront FlexUI User Interface Examples

The ACCESS-developed tool, SURF (Scenario-based UI Replaceable Framework), allows separate yet concurrent UI development and logic implementation, contributing to shorter development times. The separation of the UI and logic simplifies changes to the visual appearance of the UI only, shortening timelines for high-mix, low-volume production as well as reducing corresponding costs. In addition, screen-by-screen, SWF file specifications have very low memory requirements.

Memory management and network communication features enable incorporation even into primitive ITRON environments. NetFront FlexUI also supports OpenGL® ES 1.1/2.0 hardware acceleration, ensuring maximum performance on a broad range of devices.

NetFront FlexUI can be combined with other technologies developed by ACCESS, including NetFront™ Browser (HTML browser) and NetFront™ Living Connect (DLNA solution), to deliver greater value as a total solution.
